Innovation That Excites — Electric
Nissan launched the LEAF in 2010 — making it the world's first mass-market electric car. Over 600,000 LEAFs have been sold worldwide, proving that mainstream EV adoption was possible years before Tesla's Model 3.
The Ariya is Nissan's modern EV flagship — a sleek crossover built on the CMF-EV platform with up to 304 miles of range, available AWD, and a minimalist Japanese-inspired interior.
While Nissan was an EV pioneer, competitors have caught up. The Ariya competes in a now-crowded field against the IONIQ 5, ID.4, and Equinox EV. Nissan's advantage is experience and the LEAF's unbeatable entry price.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Ariya is a solid, comfortable EV crossover with good range and a premium interior. It's not the fastest or longest-range, but it's well-rounded and competitively priced. The e-4ORCE AWD system is excellent in bad weather.
The LEAF is being phased out, but at $28,140 it remains one of the cheapest EVs available. It's best for city driving and short commutes. The CHAdeMO fast-charging port is a downside as the network shrinks.
The Ariya is newer, larger, and more capable — it's a modern crossover SUV with up to 304 miles of range and CCS charging. The LEAF is a compact hatchback with less range and the older CHAdeMO charging standard.
